Ann Arbor - The rally, part 2

Tired yet from all this bike riding? I was. A bit disappointed in myself too. Even with training - running on the treadmill, riding on the weekends and walks up our hill - my legs just weren't in shape for riding Ann Arbor's rolling landscape, especially not in 100 degree temps. Sunday's shortest ride was 30 miles and, quite honestly, I was wondering if I could do it.

The decision to not ride on Sunday was made by Ellie. She just wasn't interested in riding again. Grace, however, was ready to go. After multiple inquiries to Ellie to ensure that she truly didn't want to ride and wouldn't change her mind once she saw Dad and Grace ride away, John and Grace dressed in riding gear, loaded the bike and we set off for the starting point.

Ellie, in pink shirt, giving Dad a flower while Grace waits patiently for the start.

Notice the long pants and long sleeved shirt that Grace is wearing. The temperature was in the low 60's by Sunday morning. Much better riding weather than Saturday and more normal for Ann Arbor.

Ready, set, go!

John and Grace rode 45 miles on Sunday. Grace rode, she pedaled. She didn't just let her feet float on the pedals. And she loved every minute of it. Way to go Grace!
