Minneapolis - Thursday

Our last day in Minneapolis was a rainy one so after taking Dad to work and breakfasting at The Original Pancake House - chocolate chip pancakes and scrambled eggs for Ellie & Grace, strawberry crepes for me - we headed to St Paul for another visit to the Minnesota Children's Museum.

It is an amazing place. Three floors of some of the coolest activities I've ever seen. The section that amused the girls the most and for the longest time was the ant hill/tunnel area on the 4th floor. Unfortunately, there are no photos of it to share. From the outside, the tunnels were just brown walls that lacked in the photogenic department. Inside, however, was a wonderland of tunnels, mazes and slides which had the girls and their new friend, Brea, continuously bursting out in squeals of laughter, screams of delight and downright fits of giggles.

And it must be said listening to those three having so much pure fun had a bevy of parents in fits of giggles as well. The biggest bout of parental laughter came when Ellie ran out long of the ant hill long enough to give me a big hug. Grace was right behind her with a hug for me. Next came Brea with a hug for me too. Not sure who was most surprised, me or Brea's mom. A few minutes later, the same procedure was repeated, this time with Brea in the lead, on Brea's mom. More laughter ensued.

I never found out the impetus behind this work of art, but it, as well as the accompanying text, held me spellbound.

Creative sliding.

"Old McDonald had a farm. E-i-e-i-o"...as sung by Ellie and Grace while posing with Ronald McDonald.
And yes, I did try to explain the difference. Didn't matter.

And so our journey in Minneapolis ended. We boarded the plane last Friday and flew home. Stay tuned for more adventures.
