Minneapolis - Monday part 1

When was the last time you spent 7 hours at a shopping mall? When was the last time you spent 7 hours at a shopping mall without going into a store? Well...maybe 1 store. And going to the movies doesn't count. Impossible you say? Not really.

Our Monday began with John having to go to work, so we all went. Yep, we all went to the office in Eagan. And it is big. I mean really big...like there are shuttles to bring staff in from outer parking lots big. Big as in there's a Caribou Coffee on the 4th floor along with a cafeteria and a store carrying a little bit of everything and a learning center, whatever exactly that is...sort of a library maybe? Hmmm...need to ask John. Along the way, amazing photos adorn the hallways courtesy of the Reuters photographers.

After getting the grand tour and meeting several of John's co-workers, the girls and I set off for...have I mentioned what a nasty morning weather-wise it was?...the Mall of America.

Yes. The Mall of America. A place I'd promised myself that we would not go to. It's a mall after all just like any other mall found anywhere only bigger. Right? Well, yes and no. It does have more retail stores than any other mall, but somehow it just didn't seem like it. Maybe because we weren't there to go shopping. We went for the aquarium. Not aquarium store. Aquarium.

Along with the aquarium, we went rode rides in the amusement park and played with butterflies in the butterfly enclosure. And 7 hours later, we drove back to John's office to pick him up.

Grace and me.

I love this shot. Ellie wanted her photo taken. Grace didn't. Think happy!

The girls wore their Wonder Pets capes for the rest of the day.
Grace would have worn her's to bed, but Dad made her take it off.
