July 11 - Beach Day 1

Our first day in Corolla was about as perfect a beach day as it gets. The day started with Ellie and Grace rising before 6 am. Why? Because it was light out. Next was breakfast with the girls exchanging rubber band bracelets and playing with Mason.

Once we finally ventured to the beach, sand castles were a must. The girls enlisted
Daddy and Grammy to help. Personally, I think they had more fun than the girls did.

The sky. Yes. It really was that blue.

Mike, in black, and John decided to take the kayaks out on the ocean.
First, they needed to get them there. Good use of the rail, huh?

John made it past the breaking waves with a little help from Mike.

It took Mike and Mason a bit longer to get past the breakers,
but once they were out it was fun to watch.

While the boys played on the water, the girls played in it. The incoming tide created pools of water
that were shallow and begged to be enjoyed. Grace and Ellie were practicing synchronized swimming
or being mermaids. Not sure which.

Mermaids? Or future Sirens? Ellie, Grace and Lydia.

John's return to shore.

Mike and Mason.
