Disney World - Monday

Monday morning dawned hot and foggy. On a normal day, the buildings across the lake are visible. Not this morning. I loved the true beachy feel the fog lent.

Plus, it made for a good shot of the lighthouse, don't you think?

After breakfast we were Magic Kingdom bound. This time around, Ellie and Grace are tall enough to ride the kids' rides. Their first choice was the carousel. Can't blame them. It was always my favorite.

And I always thought - still do actually - that it would be wonderful to have a carousel horse at home as art. For that is what they are. As far I could tell, each one on this ride is unique. Simply beautiful.

Next it was Dumbo's turn. Grace's head is just barely visible in the elephant. Both girls enjoyed having control of the joy stick and making Dumbo fly. Mommy's tummy was ready for a nice quiet ride however. Something that didn't go around and around.

After the Winnie the Pooh and Peter Pan rides, it was time to head back to Epcot and partake of some of the goodies from the Food and Wine Festival.

This isn't the best shot of the cakes at Epcot's entrance, but with the crowds entering, it was tough to get a people-free shot at all. I'll try again later.

Armed with a glass of Rose Regale, I sat down to chill, keep an eye on the girls and admire the architecture while John went in search of beer.

Once nap time was over, it was back to the hotel and time to hit the pool. That's Ellie in the water by the way. While the beach at Nags Head held no appeal for her, she's loving the beach/pool here. More photos of it later though cause it was soon dinner time and we had reservations at Citricos in the Grand Floridian Resort.

Even dressed the girls a bit...sans stickers originally, but they felt their outfits weren't Disney-ish enough.

John watched the girls while I took photos until we were seated.

We're so blessed that Ellie and Grace are good eaters and will try just about anything. We ordered the seared tofu with zuchinni, tomato compote, roasted mushrooms and lentils from the regular menu for them to share. Skipped the recommended wine pairing of Frog's Leap Zinfandel though.

even though at some point Grace decided she'd had enough food and was enjoying looking out the window. Not sure what statement the Mickey Mouse sticker covering her mouth makes, if it makes one at all. Thought it was cute though.

A stroll along the Grand Floridian beach was called for after dinner. John is the blur, Grace is to his left and Ellie is the one playing in the sand. Kids. Go figure.
