The drive to Nags Head went well and passed quicker than anticipated - until we hit the beach area and the speed limit dropped to 45. Arg!
Along the way, Ellie and Grace amused themselves by playing hide and seek with their blankets.
They also had fun playing the "peepers" that I ordered online.
El even figured out how to put them on her toes. Cracked me up! Not sure why other than it was a long drive and I'd had far too little sleep the night before. Still, it is cute.
Both girls love to see water and we knew they'd be so excited when we got to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. Alas, having been awake since 5 am, they fell asleep before we arrived at the bridge and continued to sleep over the 13 miles it covers. Hopefully they'll be awake for it on the return trip.
We arrived at the beach and were welcomed via fly over by pelicans
and a rainbow.
